The Body Shop- BlueBerry Shower Gel Review

I have been desperately wanting to finish my old shower creams as I have been eying on shower gels from Body shop and have been longing to use them. This is the first time I would be using a shower gel. The reason I selected Blueberry was only because it was a special edition. When I checked the fragrance at the store, I somehow felt the Blueberry body butter was very good much better than the blue berry shower gel.. again I didn't buy the body butters cause it is summer here and I still have a couple of heavy duty creams to finish off. :-(

What it claims: soap- free cleanser with blueberry extract.
Ingredients List: No ingredients list on the bottle.

My Review: The blueberry shower gel comes in a white sturdy transparent plastic bottle and a white plastic flip cap. The body is quite sturdy and can be used for traveling, though I prefer a small size bottle for traveling. The fragrance smells wonderfully of blue berry ( I still feel the Blueberry body butter smells better!), but it lasts only for a couple of minutes after shower.

The shower gel is in an attractive deep blue color and is of running consistency (it doesn't show much in the above pic. Look at the bottle in the first pic). I think this shower gel is perfect for summer as it is very light and fruity. The shower gel lathers well and doesn't leave any residue on the skin. Even the blue berry fragrance lifts up your mood in the morning. I have been using it for a week now and I don't experience any dryness on my skin. However I still follow up with regular routine of moisturizing with a very light lotion.

Pros:
1. Soap free.
2. Smells of blueberry extract.
3. Running consistency and hence easy to finish up when you reach the end of the product.
4. Perfect for summer.
5. Doesn't leave residue after wash.
6. No dryness.

Cons:
1.No ingredients list mentioned on the bottle.
2.It can smell very fruity for some.

Price is slightly on expensive side when you compare other shower gels in the market. This is INR425 for 250 ml. But then this is TBS, since this was a SE, no sale on this :-(

Rating: 4/5
Will you buy this product?: No, I want to explore the rest of the shower gels in TBS:-)

March - Empties Post TRESemme, Jergens, Lancome, Loreal, Olay and much more

I know, this is too too late to post an empty blog for the month of March.  I could have posted the empties for both march and April together but then it would be too many products. First thing, I was very busy with sooooo many things.. family functions and all the rituals that goes along with it. Second helping my friend with her own library and had loads of fun planning lots of stuff for the library .. finally ran for Pinkathon (a marathon for Breast Cancer awareness). Since this was my first time, I ran for only 3kms. It was fun. Super hectic but fun month.
So coming to the empties post and what got me started? When I first started reading blogs, I used to wonder about the number of products the bloggers use. I find a hard time even finishing up even one bottle of lotion, let alone other make up. I really hesitated to start the blog mainly for this reason, thinking it is a total waste of money. So when other bloggers started posting their empties blog I was very excited that it encouraged the bloggers to finish up the product and to give a complete review. This is my first empties post and I have been using products religiously to finish them. These are pretty old products, some more than a year and half old and they had just one or two usages in them which I used them up in the month of March. Let's begin.

TRESemme Hair fall defense: I  love TRESemme shampoos and have been buying them back to back. I never had any issues finishing this one product. The shampoo is very mild and can be used for every day wash. Read review here.

Lancome Bi-Facil make up remover: Since this is gifted and from a very expensive brand, I was very stingy in using this up. This is the best make up remover I have used till date. Cleans away all my make up in just a single swipe. Love this!! Anybody ready to gift me this. Read review here .

Jergens Original Scent: Very light cream, mildly scented absorbs easily. Imported body lotion, I bought this mainly because it was on an awesome sale online. Love this product and lasts really long. Worth the price... very affordable. Read review here.

Olay Total effects cream (gentle) and face wash: I use this cream every single day religiously and it lasts about 3 months. I always stock this cream and face wash.  My skin looks radiant and wonderful when I use this. I use this as a moisturizer before my make up. Slightly expensive, but totally worth it. Read Olay-total-effects-7-in-1-day-cream review. Read Olay total effects 7-in-1-foaming cleanser review.

Lo'real Paris total repair 5 Serum: Had great expectations from this product, but it didn't work for my hair at all. What a waste of money.. Only I know how I finished it. I finished it because it smells good. I definitely will not be buying this. Read Review here.

Viba Pure Coconut Oil: Good quality coconut oil. It's pure coconut oil, so I used it both for my hair and my body as well. I got it free with some magazine, so I am not complaining. I am still eyeing on the Dove elixir oil. Read Review here.

Amway Satinique advanced 2in1 shampoo and conditioner: Loved this 2 in one shampoo and conditioner. My hair felt nice, soft and silky. I was doubtful about 2 in 1 part if the conditioner would actually work, but it was very good. very mild and smells wonderful. Definitely looking at buying a bigger bottle, that reminds me ... I would need to check the ingredients list as none was mentioned on sachet. Read review here.

Elemis Hand and body lotion: very mild lotion. I used it only for my hands since it had only 5 ml. Fantastic product, only problem issue being the price, I feel it is very expensive. The lotion gets easily absorbed, non-greasy and the fragrance doesn't linger. Read Review here.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Hand cream: Was very impressed it had pro-collagen. Very mild and non greasy hand and nail cream. Too expensive. though it was just 5 ml, I loved using it. Read review here.

Lakme Black Eyeliner: I didn't care to write a review on this, as most of them must already be using this product for a very long time. Anything I say, would be less for this Lakme eyeliner. I think this is one of the best thing that Lakme has ever made. I have been using this since my college days and it is just perfect with it's matte black color and the brush which helps you make those beautiful curves. I tried a couple of other liquid eyeliners but the others could never even come close in terms of both price and quality.

Health and Glow Nail Remover: This nail remover is pretty decent.. It removes my nail polishes very easily and the glitter nail polishes in 2 or 3 swipes. I buy this only when I have run out of one and need one urgently. If you are into nail art, this nail remover can be a bit pricey.

Citron Vert Bath and Shower Gel: Again this was gifted. I never heard about this product and checked online too, but I didn't find anything related to the brand, hence I didn't care to write a review. Just a regular shower gel, nothing out of the ordinary. I love the packaging and so I am keeping the bottle:-).

Hope you love this empties post.

Sonia
Nivea Happy Time Body Lotion Bamboo-Milk Non- stop Hydra IQ 24 h+ Review

I have already reviewed about Nivea Happy time Shower cream. This is a Nivea body lotion. What attracted me to this was that the lotion consists of bamboo extract and milk proteins  and has orange fragrance as well . My Shower cream also has orange fragrance  and hence I decided to purchase this.

What it claims: Enjoy nourishing care and inspire your senses with the feel good sensation created for normal skin. Enriched with Bamboo extract and milk proteins, Nivea Happy time body lotion works deep within the skin to repair dryness layer by layer and strengthens the skin's own protection function. It's mild scent with orange flower leaves you feeling freshly cared for all day long. Nivea's unique formula naturally promotes a continuous moisture supply from within for long lasting soft skin. Skin compatibility dermatologically proven.

Non- stop Hydra IQ 24 h+: Fosters new Aquaporins- skin's own hydration channels. Use regularly to support a natural 24+ moisture.

Ingredients List:

My Review: Nivea Happy Time Body Lotion Bamboo-Milk Non- stop Hydra IQ 24 h+ comes in an pearl white sturdy plastic bottle with a matching flip cap. The lettering is blue in color. The lotion is milky white in color with a running consistency (see the pic below). The fragrance of the lotion is mild with orange and bamboo extract and disappears after few minutes of application. The fragrance is not overpowering and not very sweet, something which I love.

The lotion once applied absorbs easily and keeps the skin moisturized. However it does not fulfill the non stop  Hydra IQ 24 +, I feel the need to reapply after 5 or 6 hrs. This lotion is only for normal skin, so I am not sure if it will suit oily skin or dry skin. I have dry skin during winters, since the lotion is light and non-greasy, I prefer it only for summers, for the winters I still prefer the heavy lotions and body butters.

Pros:
1. Pleasant fragrance of bamboo extract and orange leaves
2. Fragrance not overpowering
3. Gets easily absorbed into skin
4. Moisturize the skin for really long time.
5. Perfect for summer.
6. Price INR265 for 400 ml.

Cons:
1.Does not fulfill the criteria about keeping the skin moisturized for 24 hrs
2. Contains paraben.

Rating: 4/5

April Haul- Revlon, Maybelline, Dirty Works and much more

OK.... just to be clear I didn't buy all these products at the same time...Some of these products I bought online and some from different stores at different times. So it's more like a collective haul. I am very excited to share this month's haul with you all. It's been a huge shopping for me. Hope you all like it.

1. Socks: I was actually looking for a fancy purse in Lifestyle Forum mall and these socks were placed right next to the purses. I didn't buy the purse but bought these cute looking socks from Ginger priced at INR99 each. One pair is black with red roses and the other is baby pink self embroidered. You might still be able to find these on sale. There were other cute looking ones but I just bought two.

2. Fan brush: I stopped at Health and Glow to check if they had the new Revlon Matte and Lacquer Lip balms. Unfortunately they didn't have it. I bought this fan brush cause I needed a brush for the highlighter. This is priced at INR80.

3. Maybelline Baby Lips: I bought the Maybelline Baby Lips in Tangerine pop with SPF 16 from H&G store. I checked the other flavors and most of them were nearing expiry so had to be content with only this one. Price is INR150

4. Green earrings: This I desperately needed for a family function and I needed a big Chunky earring as it is the only piece of jewellery I would be wearing. I didn't have time to go shop and so I bought it from a fancy store nearby. I was surprised to find they stored some pretty nice jewellery and necklaces. Overall happy!! I think this was around INR150

5. Dirty Works Buttery Salt Scrub: I have heard about this brand for the first time. It is a UK based brand. I have been wanting to get the Chocomania from The Body Shop, but since these were not sale and it is quite expensive for me otherwise, I found a cheaper alternative. I found the Dirty Works Buttery Salt Scrub, It is almost 50% cheaper and also is slightly higher in quantity. The packaging looked kind of retro, something like Soap&Glory ( I am yet to own one!:-().. So for its affordable price and great quantity, I bought it.

6. Dirty Works Hand Cream: I needed a hand cream as my previous hand cream was almost getting over and since I was already ordering the Body scrub from the same brand I decided to go with this one as well. I ordered the Dirty Works Buttery Salt Scrub and the Dirty Works Hand cream from fashion and you online website (link here) and it was on a sale.

7.  Revlon Matte and Lacquer Balms: This was the favorite part of my purchase. Continuing my search for Revlon Matte and Lacquer Balms and after all the shopping in the mall, I decided to check the Lifestyle store. I jumped with joy when the SA showed these jewels to me. They have 8 shades for matte and 8 for lacquer(swatch below). I bought just 2. One in Matte and one in Lacquer.  I bought 'Standout Remarquable' shade# 250 which is a lovely Matte red and 'Whimsical Fantaisiste' shade # 115 from the Lacquer collection which is a berry shade with shimmer. They are priced at INR800 each.

8. Revlon Eye-shadows: Like the Lip balms weren't enough I landed up buying these cute eyeshadows. This is really an awesome idea from Revlon, usually you get eye shadows in singles or in a palette. Here you can choose colors of your choice and make your own palette. Yes you heard it right ... you can connect all these singles and have your own palette.I bought 3 of them 'Onyx' shade#300, 'Java' shade#280, and 'Plum' shade#110. Out of the 3 only the Plum is matte. At INR 175 each, it super affordable.

9. Nail Polishes: I bought the green Elle to suit the color of my dress for the function. The Eyetex Dazzler looked green under the store lights ... now it kinda looks bluish.:-( and finally the shimmer which I purchased is mainly for my nail art. All these were bought from a Fancy Store near my home. Prices: Elle- 50INR , Eyetex Dazzler- 40INR, Shimmer nail polish- 30INR

Phew, that was a long post ...

Nivea happy time Shower cream Review
I have seen Nivea products right from when I was 3 yrs old and that time my mom used to use only Nivea cream which used come in blue tins. Then when I went to college and my roomate was from Kuwait and she used Nivea body lotion and that was the first time I saw it, it was so milky and it had the very same familiar scent of Nivea... so anyways today I am not going to talk about cream and lotion it is about Nivea shower cream.
What it claims: Nivea Happy time with invigorating Orange Blossom scent and caring bamboo milk. Let the delicious fruity scent of Orange Blossom stimulate your senses. The silky shower cream, with caring Bamboo extract leaves your skin feeling beautifully soft and smooth. Relax and Rejuvenate with every shower. PH skin balanced- Dermatologically approved. Hydra IQ moisture technology for a soft skin feeling.

Ingredients List: Surprisingly there is no ingredients listed on the bottle .... ok that's what I thought and then I checked the packaging of the Loofah when I was clicking the pictures and the ingredients list was mentioned there...weird!!

How to use a Loofah:

My Review: This Nivea Happy time with invigorating Orange Blossom scent and caring bamboo milk shower cream is a 250 ml plastic bottle with a dark blue flip cap. The front of the bottle has a picture of an orange with Nivea in blue lettering. The bottle is quite sturdy and can also be used when traveling.

This shower cream came with a free Loofah which is an awesome idea cause the we don't have to go searching for a loofah...The product is pale and silky white in color and creamy and smells wonderfully of orange. The formula is slightly running which is useful especially when you reach the end of the bottle so you don't have to struggle with finishing the product.

As the product claims this shower cream leaves your body feeling smooth. The scent of the shower cream lingers for 10 mins or so even after shower. The product lathers really well, and hence only little is required and since this is 250 ml it really lasts very long. I've been using this for almost 10 months now and I still have a little less than quarter bottle left. This shower cream is perfect for the summer as it is light and leaves you feeling fresh with the smell of orange.

Pros:
1. Smells fresh with the smell of orange
2. The body feels smooth
3. Product is slightly runny, and is helpful when reaching the end of the product.
4. Lathers well and hence little product is required for usage.
5. Super affordable price INR145 for 250 ml

Cons:
Can't think of any .

Herbacin Kamille Hand Cream Review

I never heard of this product until I googled it. So this hand cream was gifted by my mom's friend who went to Canada for a holiday.. (Hmm ... somehow all my products seem to come from Canada, be it a relative or a friend). So, I have reviewed about another Elemis Pro-Collagen hand cream before (Review here )and this is my second one. After using Elemis hand cream, I thought all hand creams comes in a cream or lotion like texture.. but not this one...

What it claims: Herbacin Kamille Hand Cream is dermatologically tested. It has glycerine, silicone and camomile. A Hand cream with natural camomile extract, glycerine and silicone to promote and moisturize your skin.

Ingredients List:

My Review: This Herbacin Kamille Hand Cream is 20 ml and comes in light green tube with matching color screw cap. The top of the tube has a pretty daisy flower with the lettering in white. This product is imported from Germany.

The cream is white in color and is slightly gelatinous and thick must be due to the glycerine in the cream. It smells pleasant and doesn't linger for long.
The cream though seems thick, gets easily absorbed but after that the hands kinda has a waxy feel or like my sister says it is like the hands were rubbed with talcum powder. So this waxy feel makes your hands feel that they are soft, smooth and nice. Very little cream is required for application and hence this product last quite long.

I don't think they have an outlet in India, although there a few online websites that sell this hand cream if you really want to try. Junglee.com has this product at INR2310 for 100 ml, so that will be INR462 for 20 ml check here.
Pros:
1. Imported product
2. Contains, glycerine and camomile extract.
3. Little product goes a long way
4. Smells pleasant and doesn't linger
5. Easily absorbed
6. Hand feels soft and smooth

Cons:
1. Hands has a waxy feel, can be irritating for some
2. Not easily available.
3. Expensive

I prefer the Elemis pro‑ collagen hand cream to this one. The cream is so light and gets easily absorbed, only issue is that it's super duper expensive in India.

TRESemme -Hair fall Defense shampoo Review
One day I saw this TRESemme Advertisement on TV and after all the hype this brand created I thought it was going to be expensive and I really was surprised that this product was inexpensive and quickly purchased both the Shampoo and conditioner. Ingredients List:

My Review: The TRESemme Shampoo I bought is 215 ml and it comes in a Matt black plastic bottle with a press button top nozzle. This one is for Hair fall defense and the Lettering is purple colored. The Shampoo also comes in 600 ml bottle as well. The 215 ml  bottle is travel friendly and can be carried around without any fear of spillage.

The shampoo is pearly white color with a very slight runny consistency. The fragrance of the shampoo smells nice and plesant and lingers on the hair even on the next day as well. Love, Love, Love! The shampoo lathers very well and hence only a very small amount is required for each wash. Though the shampoo seems mild, it washes my oiled hair in just one hair wash. The reason why I really love this shampoo, is my hair feels soooo soft and smooth and smells so nice. It gives a nice shine to my hair. It also controls the frizziness in my hair. I do hair fall issues, but I didn't find noticeable changes in my hair fall even after using this shampoo.

TRESemme has come out with few other shampoo to cater to different hair problems: 1. Tresemme Smooth and Shine. 2. Tresemme Climate Control. 3. Tresemme Split Remedy 4. Tresemme Keratin Smooth

Pros:
1. Pleasant fragrance which lingers on the hair even on the next day.
2. Soft and Smooth hair.
3. Nice Shine to the hair.
4. Inexpensive INR 135 for 215 ml.
5. Mild Shampoo

Cons:
Didn't prevent hair fall though.

Himalaya Herbals Lip balm- Review

I never used lip balm when I was studying college. I just used to use vaseline just once a day and it was sufficient. But once I moved to Bangalore and because of weather I needed to use the lip balm. I used several lip balms to treat the problem. This lip balm I am talking about today is the most, used by almost everyone as it is from a good brand and very very easily available and cost effective.

What it claims: Wheatgerm oil, Carrot seed oil. Nourishes lips, Prevents drying and chapping. 100% Herbal actives.

Directions: Apply on lips as and when needed.

Ingredients List: Each gm containsEranda (Ricinus Communis), Garijara (Daucus carota), Godhuma (Triticum sathvum), Hyamaraka (Wrightia tinctoria) Narikela (Cocos nucifera).

My Review: Himalaya herbals Lip balm comes in a 10gm white tube with a green screw cap. The balm is colorless but smells like a bubble gum, but not to worry you neither get the taste nor the smell of the bubble gum after you apply it.The lip balm is slightly gelatinous and easily melts when applied on the lips. It nourishes lips and prevents drying. I can't say that it prevents chapping . I apply  it 10 minutes before I apply my lipstick so that my lips look even and smooth. Since it inexpensive I don't mind applying it as and when I feel like it.

There are days when I have forgotten my lip balm or my lip balm has gotten over, but then I don't worry, as it is easily available in local supermarket and medical shops. So 100 points on its availability. Even though Himalaya is such a big brand, I am so happy that the brand is made so easily available to the public. They also have their own Himalaya outlets at various parts in the city. All I can say is that if you are looking for a branded lip balm which is easily available and which is inexpensive... then this is the one! I always have one of this in my make up bag in case my other lip balms get over.

Pros:
1. Nourishes Lips.
2. Prevents Drying
3. 100% herbal actives
4. Inexpensive INR 25 for 10 gms
5. Easily available at any local stores even though it is such a big brand.

Cons:
Doesn't prevent chapping for me.

Rating: 4.9/5
Will you buy this product?: Yes, Love it for the availability and price

March Haul- All time favorites

As you all know I started  changing to a healthy diet and also trying to change my lifestyle. The first thing I started off  was cutting on caffeine. As any true south Indian I love coffee so much and some times have more than 3 times a day, but with determination to be healthy and with a conscious effort to change my lifestyle I switched to Green Tea. I initially used to hate it, but now after 2 months I am in love with it, so when my green tea got over, I rushed to the nearest Nilgiris store to buy them. This time I bought Tetley Green Tea and apart from that I also bought a couple of other favorites.

I bought 2 packs of Tetley Green Tea, Sofit soya milk chocolate flavor, strawberries and  only one product relating to the skin care and that too only because my Garnier Fructis serum (Read Review)was getting over so I bought my trusted Livon in a Brand new Look.

Here we go for some gyaan about healthy living

Livon Serum: nothing much to say about this except that my serum is getting over and I needed a new one.. This is used to be my favorite, but I have not tried the Livon in its new look. I am so excited and looking forward to try this product and hope the product doesn't disappoint me and continues to be my favorite product.. rest in a separate review.
Price: INR 115 for 50ml

Strawberries: I don't really know of anyone who hates strawberries. Strawberries can be found in ice creams and cakes and can be just enjoyed just by itself or with a huge dollop of cream. Personally speaking I don't like fruits very much, I can just tolerate Banana, mango, Butterfruit, watermelon..So it is really an effort for me to just eat a small bowl of fruits. Once my mom casually bought strawberries and I loved it just plain, not camouflaging and all , I loved it loved even the sour ones and finished it all in just one sitting. So when I visited Nilgiris, the next shop was a fruits and shop and they sold Strawberries and I bought a pack. Now the gyaan... All the berries are very very good for health in general as all the berries have anti oxidant properties which helps in fighting stress and other illness. It helps in improving health, skin and hair and also prevents certain diseases. All fruits and vegetables contain anti -oxidants but the berries has higher anti -oxidants. There are several powerful antioxidants that appear in berries, including anthocyanins, quercetin, and vitamin C. You can google about these anti- Oxidants and read about the health benefits.
This Pack costs about INR 63 and it has about 15-18 strawberries.

Tetley Green Tea:  As you all know Green tea has gained a lot of popularity for its healthy benefits in last 10 years mainly because of its health benefits. This green tea when brewed and consumed unsweetened contains Zero calories and one of the most recommended drink by health experts to reduce weight. Certain studies also showed that it also reduces the amount of cholestrol in the body. The main reason is so well known is because of its anti-oxidant properties and it has the highest amount. Even olive oil, Sardines and soya are other foods that have anti oxidant properties. I bought Tetley because I want to try it and mainly because I was attracted to this particular flavour because it has Ginger, mint and Lemon which I love and it is so refreshing. This one particular brand is slightly on the expensive side you might find other brands with other flavors that might work out a lot cheaper for you.
Price: INR 60 for 10 tea bags

Sofit Soya milk: I drink protein shake every day and also have tried different flavors like vanilla, strawberry, mocha and chocolate and some days I get really bored with the taste and wanted a HEALTHY break from the routine. I have tried this Sofit Soya milk before when I was Bangalore but some how completely forgot about about it, but now since I am looking for tastier yet healthy alternatives, the moment I saw this Soya Milk and that too in chocolate flavor, I immediately grabbed it. For people who are not aware of the benefits of Sofit soya milk.. read on:-) Its is healthier alternative to regular milk which has lots of fat. Soya milk has anti-oxidant properties and is really good for health. Sofit Soya Milk comes in 5 different flavors: Natural, chocolate, Vanilla, Kesar Pista and Mango. Except for the Natural flavor, the rest 4 has sugar in it. You might want to check the ingredients list.. But if you are new to making changes to a healthier lifestyle I would suggest it because it tasty as well as healthy. It comes in a tetra pack so it is easy store. Once opened it needs to be refrigerated and needs to be consumed within 3 days.
Price: INR 95 for 200 ml

So what did you all buy this weekend? Have you tried any of stuffs and do you like them? Leave your comments below.

I received this Garnier face wash sample free with Garnier color naturals 2 years back and I just used this a couple of times. So I decided to review this today lest I finish up the product and have none left for the review. So here we go...

What it claims: Gently cleanses without drying skin. Suitable for all skin types.

Ingredients list:

My Review: The Garnier Skin Naturals Gentle Face wash comes in a with tube with a matching screw cap. The tube is opaque. The face wash is gel based and is pale green in color. A little amount is enough to apply for entire face and hence this 50 gm tube lasts quite long. It has a shelf life of 3 years.

Initially I felt I need to use more as it doesn't foam much, but later realized it is just made that way.. This product is very light and is  great since it is suitable for all skin types and doesn't leave my skin dry even after washing. I never even had any breakouts after using this face wash. It is inexpensive. It is great product especially for teenage girls who are just starting in to skin care as this face wash is very very mild and not heavy on the pockets and lasts quite long. Really great product at such an inexpensive price.

Elemis Skin nourishing Hand and Body lotion

I have already spoken about an Elemis product earlier and  that was a hand lotion.. I never personally bought any Elemis product and these Elemis products I received when my sister travelled to UK and  these were given in the flight. My sis knows how much I love these free samples and pass them on to me...Who doesn't love free samples? :-)

What it claims:This enriching lotion leaves skin really soft and healthy looking.
Directions: Massage into hands and body.
Ingredients: Aqua (water), Ethylhexyl Stearate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Cetearyl Alcohol, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (jojoba) Seed oil, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Stearate, Glycerin, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Myristyl Myristate, Sodium Lactate, Phenoxyethanol, Macadamia Ternifolia (Macaadamia) seed oil, Fragrance (Parfum), Sodium Poly Acrylate, Benzoic acid, Camelia Oleifera seed oil, Tocopheryl acetate, Cocodimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Milk protein, Dehydroacetic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Ethylhexylglycerin, avena sativa (oat) kernel extract, Polyaminopropyl Biguanide, Potassium Sorbate, sodium Benzoate, Cinnamyl alcohol, Citronellol, Coumarin, Geraniol, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Linalool, alpha- Isomethyl Ionone.

My Review: The lotion comes in a dark blue tube with a matching screw cap. This is a sample tube and hence it has only 5 ml of product. This sample tube lasts for about a week. Since the Elemis hand lotion got over, I started using this tube only for the palms. I never tried it on the body as it has only 5 ml.

The lotion is white in color. It is very light lotion and gets easily absorbed into the skin. The lotion is not oily and perfume free and you can have food without any problem. I checked this product on online and is super expensive with 22.90 pounds without shipping on ebay :-(. I guess that is the only drawback of this product.. Just lucky to be able to use this product even if it is just 5 ml.

Pros:
1. 5 ml tube lasts for a week if used only for palms
2. Very light lotion and gets easily absorbed into the skin
3. The lotion is not oily and perfume free and you can have food without any problem.

Cons:
1. Not easily available in India.
2.  Super expensive with 22.90 pounds without shipping on ebay

Rating: 3/5

Garnier Fructis- Smoothing Serum Silky Straight 24/7- Review

This was a serum that I am across because of my dear friend.. Until then I was using Livon..So the story of this serum was my best friend bought this serum and tried for two weeks on her hair but it didn't work for her and believe me she had this long beautiful straight hair.. So she asked if I wanted it.. I asked "for free?" she said yes:-)  but I wondered if it would not work for my hair too.. When I tried it, it was so good and works very well for my hair.. Thanks to my friend that I found something that works so wonderfully for me.

What it Claims: Garnier Fructis Smoothing Serum Silky Straight 24/7 with fruit oils.
1. Smoothes hair to make it silky.
2. Detangles unmanageable hair
3. Gives you radiant shine.

Tired of rough  unmanageable hair? want silky smooth hair for longer?
Garnier Fructis Silky straight 24/7 taming system
Step1: Silky straight 24/7 Shampoo
Step2: Silky straight 24/7 conditioner
Step3: Silky straight 24/7 Serum

To use: Work a small amount of product in hands and apply evenly through damp hair. Blow- dry or style as desired. Can be reapplied throughout the day for added shine and frizz control . For best results use with Garnier Fructis Silky straight 24/7 Shampoo and Conditioner.

Ingredients List:
Cyclopenta siloxane, Dimethiconol, C12-15 Aklyl Benzoate, Hydroxycitronellal, Limonene, Linalool, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Benzoate, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Isoeugenol, Aplhs-Isomethyl Ionone, Fragrance, Avocado Oil, Grape seed oil, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citronellol, Coumarin, Hexyl Cinnamal, Amyl Cinnamal.

My Review: Garnier Fructis Smoothing Serum Silky Straight 24/7 with fruit oils comes in a green bottle with a matching flip cap. The bottle is transparent and is really useful to know the amount of product left. The Serum is colorless and slightly oily with a pleasant fragrance. The serum is very light and gets easily absorbed in the hair and the pleasant fragrance lingers for about 20-30 mins. The Serum works very well for my hair and does all of all the things it claims. Smoothes my hair, detangles and gives a nice shine. The shine however doesn't last very long, I have not tried reapplying it though. Overall great product and inexpensive.

How I use: After washing my hair with shampoo and applying conditioner(I don't use either Garnier fructis shampoo or conditioner) and leave my hair to air dry or sometimes even towel dry when in hurry (I only blow dry for special occassions).. So when my hair is almost dry but still slightly damp, I part my hair into two so it is easy to apply. I take the serum about the size of a two rupee coin and rub it lightly on both my palms. I then use one palm for one side of the hair and the other palm for the other side lightly. The remaining left over serum, I apply it to the front of my hair where it is shorter. I do this because the hair tangles mostly at the tip and hence the serum helps it.

Pros:
1. Very light serum
2. Gets easily absorbed into the hair.
3. Pleasant fragrance
4. Smoothes and detangles and nice shine.
5. Transparent bottle
6. Inexpensive INR199 for 100ml

Cons:
Shine doesn't last for long

Rating: 4.9/5

Olay Total effects 7 in 1 Day cream Review

This product created such a huge name when it hit the market and the television and which had famous celebrities like Kajol and Madhuri Dixit advertising for it. The advertisements showed it can cure wrinkles and fine lines and gives instant glow upon regular usage and this was enough for me to give this a try though I do not have any wrinkles :P. I was particularly interested in this Olay product coming to India.. When I was small we used to get olay lotions sent to us from of our relatives in Dubai and abroad.... It was called Oil of Olay  and then there was Oil of Ulay which was similar. It was light pink bottle with a black cap. ohh loved the smell of Oil of Olay... nostalgic!:-)

What it claims: Fights 7 signs of ageing and protects against UVA/UVB rays with a proven anti rich SPF 15 anti ageing complex for younger looking protected skin.
Total Effects is the result of years of state-of-the-art anti-ageing research. It has been specially formulated to help fight 7 signs of ageing. Total Effects UV is fortified with SPF 15 that prevents your skin from the harmful ageing effects of UVA and UVB rays. This is suited especially for a hectic lifestyle that requires you to spend time outdoors in the sun.
Science behind Olay Total Effects: Olay Total Effects provides a breadth of benefits to deliver the beautiful younger looking skin women want and the healthy skin they need. The key to this is a combination of two ingredients VitaNiacin and Anti-Oxidants, which together work to fight 7 signs of ageing and give younger looking skin.

Directions: Apply liberally to cleansed face and neck twice a day.

Ingredients List: I didn't find any ingredients list on the bottle and I had thrown of the package it came in :-(

This is the ingredient list I found online.
Niacinamide (improves tone and texture); glycerin, isohexadecane, dimethicone (moisturizes); vitamins E and B5 (antioxidants)

7 Signs of ageing:
1. Fine lines and wrinkles: Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
2. Uneven Tone: Balances out and even skin tone.
3. Age Spots: Reduces appearances of age spots
4. Uneven Texture: Smoothes and even out skin texture.
5. Dryness: Provides nourishing moisturization.
6. Dullness: gives skin a healthy radiance
7. Pores: Minimizes the appearance of pores

My Review: The cream comes in a small cylinder like bottle with a transparent cap. I wish the bottle was see through as well. The bottle is cream in color with a slight gold shimmer on it and with black pump cap and a stopper (shown above) which is really useful as it avoids spillage. It comes in two different sizes 50g and 20 g. It comes with a minimum SPF of 15. The moisturizer is slightly thick for me and so I use just one squirt and it dissolves into my skin easily. This product lasts 3 months for me when I use it twice a day.

Similar to the Olay Total effects 7 in 1 foaming Cleanser (review here), I also buy this product back to back. I bought this as a Pack. This cream doesn't break out my skin and gives a nice glow on usage and also minimizes my pores. Love this product. I also apply it as base for my make up.

How I use it: I first cleanse my face using the Olay Total effects 7 in 1 foaming Cleanser after which I moisturize using Olay Total effects 7 in 1 Day cream. I just press the pump just once and apply it as dots all around my face and neck and massage it upward circular motion and I am good to go.
Look at my dirty cap!BOO!!:-(
Pros:
1. Doesn't break out my skin
2. Does reduce fine lines
3. Balances and evens out skin tone.
4. Smoothes and evens out skin texture.
5. Provided nice moisturisation
6. Gives a nice glow on regular usage
7. Minimizes my pores.
8. Use it a base for make up.
9. Inexpensive: Price INR749 for 50g.. really awesome for all the work it does.

Cons:
1. The transparent cap tends to get dirty.
2. Wish the bottle was transparent.

Rating: 4.75/5
Will you buy this product: No, I already have one in stock :-)

Ayur Herbal Astringent With Aloe Vera Review

Today I would be reviewing an Astringent. I generally just wash my face and apply moisturizer, and upon go-ogling I learnt it is very important to tone your face and is as important as cleansing and moisturizing... So currently it is a part of my daily routine. Many people like me would be confused between a toner or an Astringent. So I have listed a couple of them below from this link  here and you can make your choice.

Toner: Toners are more suitable for use on dry or sensitive skin because they don't contain harsh chemicals or alcohol that can dry or irritate the skin. The harsh ingredients in facial toners can actually leave the skin feeling drier and even itchy, which can lead you to touching and scratching your face, which could lead to further skin problems. They are used to clarify the skin, keep the skin hydrated and moisturized, refresh tired complexions, reduce the appearance of fine lines, improve skin tone, and restore the skin's natural pH balance.
Astringent: Astringents are more suitable for use on oily skin or combination dry and oily skin. Since the alcohol in astringents helps to remove excess oil and dirt on the skin, it aids in giving the skin a matte appearance. Using a facial toner, however, may leave the skin with an oily appearance. Astringents can tighten the skin's pores and help reduce acne by controlling oils and removing impurities that usually lead to blemishes and breakouts. Additionally, astringents work by removing dead skin cells, dirt and makeup.
So after the essay on toners and astringent... lets move on to the review.
What it claims: This with Aloe vera and suitable for all skin types. Ayur's Astringent lotion is a herbal preparation which:
1. Contains aloe Vera, Camphor and mint
2. It's antiseptic and cooling properties check over secretion of sebum.
3. It is best suited for oily, acne- prone and problematic skin.

How to Use:
Never rub on the skin, always pat it with a cotton wool. Apply it before putting make up.

My review: The Astringent comes in a white see through bottle with a dark green screw cap. You need to pierce the tight shut lid inside to use the product. The liquid itself is sea green color and thereby giving the appearance of a green bottle. It has a minty scent which is very refreshing. I bought it only cause I have been having breakouts about a year and a half back. I love using this right after washing my face with warm water and after patting it dry I apply the astringent. It immediately refreshes my skin as well as closing my pores in the process. I bought it purely because this was herbal and that it has aloe Vera which is very mild for the skin and also that it treats acne.

I  also use it as an antiseptic as well in case of an acne breakout or any small open wounds on face and neck. As mentioned above this astringent is currently a part of my daily routine. I personally prefer astringent for removing dirt over cleansing milk as I found astringent more effective in removing dirt. Love this product and it last really really long.

Pros:
1. Refreshes my skin.
2. Closes my pores. upon regular usage minimizes the pores.
3.  I do not have oily skin, but I have an acne prone skin and so this really helps
4. Really really cheap... Price INR75 for 200 ml

Cons:
No ingredients list on the bottle. But I think the newer bottles comes with the ingredient list.

Rating: 5/5
Will I repurchase it: No,  I want to try some other astringent... I have been using this for ages now.

Olay Total Effects 7 in foaming cleanser Review

Today I would be reviewing one of favorite cleanser. I first came across this cleanser when the Olay advertisement were coming on TV about 2 years back. I decided to give this a try to see if it really worked for me.

The Two cleaners shown below are the same. The White one I bought separately and the other comes with the Olay Total Effects 7 in 1 day cream. Initially I used to buy only the white one but then felt it was cost effective to buy the pack. Though I later realized it was not much of difference.

So why two foaming cleaners? and are they both same? Yes they both are the same. I bought the white one but then my day cream got over and I bought the pack which comes with the cleanser.  So two cleansers :-). I love both the cleanser and Day cream( read review here) and keep buying them back to back for the last 2 years

What it claims: Washes away impurities for fresher and younger looking skin for all skin types. Helps remove excess oil. Gets rid of dirt. Removes Make up. Gentle on skin. Doesn't over dry. Helps lift away dull surface skin. Non Comedogenic (this means these are products that do not block pores)

Directions: Dispense a small amount of product into hands. Add water and work into lather. Massage gently onto face and neck. Rinse thoroughly.

Ingredients List: Both of them have same ingredients List.

My Review:  The cleanser comes in a black flip cap tube. The tube is designed in such a way that the product flows to the top so you don't have to struggle much when the cleanser is almost getting over. The cleanser is pearly white smooth cream like texture and has lovely pleasant smell. When I use this cleanser I do find my face immediately brighten up. I doesn't break out my skin and doesn't dry my skin..

My skin feels very soft after washing. Though the product claims to remove make up. It does remove my make up and also water proof mascaras and eye liners with little scrubbing. It looks gentle but really does its work. Since it so gentle and doesn't dry my skin out, I use twice a day (I also have one  in my office make up bag) after which I moisturize with Olay total effects  7in 1 day cream. Definitely should give this a try if you haven't tried and this is suitable for all skin types.
Pros:
1. Pleasant smell
2. Doesn't break out my skin
3. Doesn't dry my skin
4. Instant glow
5. Suitable for all skin types
6. Inexpensive Price INR125 for the white and INR130 for the black and both are 50g tube

Cons:
Can't think of any

Rating:5/5

February Haul- Random Essentials

Hi lovelies,

This weekend I had an awesome time with my family. We went to Ampa mall and decided to look around. The moment we got down, we were so confused as to which way to enter the mall. This mall had a side entrance but there was some work going on and a huge traffic and the security directed us to  enter the  mall from the parking lot. Phew!! what a tiring walk.

I have been to this mall earlier but just once, so I was pretty excited. I saw The Body Shop store on the ground floor and I rushed to buy some products. I wanted the gloves so badly... but sadly it was not on sale.. Heard so many great reviews about chocomania and the Peach scrub as well.. they were out of stock.. :-(. This is what I got

Looking through their collection and I saw the Rainforest shampoo.. For all who don't know I have extremely dry hair and also hairfall.. Well I did try a number of shampoos, and I am still in search for The ONE.I saw this Rainforest Moisture shampoo and the label read No SILICONES, NO SULFATES , NO PARABENS. I know that sulfates are bad for the hair, but most of the shampoos sold here in India all have sulfates or they are priced high... I had heard so many great reviews about this shampoo and decided to try this. I already have 600ml Tresemme Shampoo and hence decided to buy only the 250ml.

There are not much beauty brands in this mall. Next we went to Parcos and tried a couple of perfumes.
Loved the L'eau d'Issey Issey Miyake for women, but I didn't buy.. Have a lot of perfumes and mist in stock, that I felt guilty buying. Yeah , Yeah I have to review them. Given below is the picture of perfume I tried.

Visited the Health and Glow store and bought the Chambor Lip gloss,Maybelline Make up remover, Maybelline Clear glow Shine free clear stick, Maybelline Collossal Mascara. Finally purchased some groceries from Star Bazzar and had our lunch at Kumarakom.  You guys should try this place if you want to taste authentic Kerala cuisine.

So, Did you all buy anything this weekend? please share.

Avon Foot Works Review

I usually go to the parlor to get my mani and pedi done. But then my mom usually gets cracks on the feet and its pretty expensive to be going to the parlor every week and hence decided to look out something for her weekly foot spa at home.. this is when my sis decided to gift my mom this Avon footworks and I also sometimes use this when I get bored at home during the weekends. OK enough about my story, lets talk about this Foot works.

What it claims: Avon Foot Works: Refreshing Citrus foot soak. It list 3 major results:
  • Refreshing citrus scented soak soothes, cleanses and deodorizes hot, tired feet.
  • Helps soften corns, calluses and dry, hardened skin on feet.
  • Contains special moisturizers and skin softeners, which leave the feet feeling refreshed and stimulated.
Ingredients List: SLES, TLS, Glycerin, Ginger/Pineapple/Carrot/Green tea.

How to use: Pour 4 capfuls into half a bucket of warm water. Stir gently with finger tips to mix. Soak feet, rinse off and towel dry after use.

My review: Avon Foot works comes in a small cream colored bottle with a blue flip cap. The product has consistency of a thin shampoo and quite runny. It does have a strong citrus smell. I used just one capful instead of 4 caps mentioned and it did lather well. With 4 capfuls I don't think it will even give 3 usages. I did use the footfile and pumice stone to remove dry skin and to soften the feet.

This foot soak didn't do anything for me . I am sure even if I put my feet into plain warm water my dry skin would soften and my feet would anyways become clean from long soak.

Since it is a foot soak I expected to have Epsom salt and the likes which helps in relaxing tired feet.

Pros:
Smells nice and citrusy

Cons: I  have more Cons:-(
1. Bottle is not transparent to see the left over product.
2. Does nothing special like softening dry skin or corns
3. 125 INR for 75 ml and with 4 capfuls per usage, its pretty expensive.

Repurchasing: Definitely No, Looking for another one.

CKone- Apricot Facial Scrub Review

Before this facial scrub, I only used everyuth walnut facial scrub which was awesome. I bought this in Bangalore. I needed a new one as my old one  had gotten over and need a new one to combat the dry skin on my face and was a look out for a new one. So when I checked my local supermarket across various brands. This tube immediately caught my eyes with its huge size. I already own CK one perfume which I will review later, I was surprised to see a facial scrub from them and that too in a local supermarket. I was looking for Apricot or walnut  and was so happy cause this was a walnut one. I was hesitant to purchase as  I thought it must be some dupe and would be costly and that too for such a big tube, as there were no small size available, anyways I decided to go with this and bought this. The price is super amazing for brand, quantity and quality.

What it claims: CK One Apricot Facial scrub  gently scrubs away dull surface cells to reveal clean, fresh, healthy skin. As your skin undergoes its own process of natural, dead cells and other impurities accumulate and hide your skin's freshest layer. Calvin Klein Apricot scrub quickly unclogs pores, removes blackheads and complexion dulling dead cells. Our natural fiber cleansing complex in a smooth base is gentle enough to use everyday.

How to use: Moisten face and throat and apply with wet fingertips and massage gently( carefully avoiding eyes). Rinse well and pat dry. Exceptionally clean, healthy skin is visible immediately! Try it in the shower too.

Ingredients List: Water with sambucus, walnut shell powder Glycery Sambucus, Propylene, Glycol, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Corn Meal, Cetyl Alcohol, Linoleamide DEA, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Lanolin Oil, Emulsifying wax NF, Apricot Kemel oil, Calendula Officinalis Extract, Sage extract, Pansy Extract, Gentiam Extract, Cornflower Extract, Linden Extract, Titanium Dioxide, Ceteareth-20, PEG-100, Stearate, Triethanolamine, Carbomer, Methlyparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Phenoxyethanol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methlyisothiazolinone, Fragrance

My Review:  This face scrub comes in a large tube with a screw cap. The product is creamy and it has apricot particles. The product is Light beige in color. It has nice fragrance and a little strong compared to the other face scrub I've used (CKone effect :-).  The tube is frosty transparent, which I love because you can see the amount of product left in it.

When I first used it ( I used it as per the directions on the pack)  my skin  felt lovely and smooth and there was slight glow. There was no dryness even after using the scrub. It did remove the dry skin on my face. I don't have blackheads so can't comment on that. Since it is creamy you don't require a lot of product and hence this scrub really last for a long time. The Apricot particles can be quite harsh for sensitive skin, but works well for me and I love the slight harshness as I feel it is working on me when i feel the particles on my hand when I scrub. Though it is mentioned that it can be used daily. I use it only once in 3 or 4 days, I wouldn't recommend using daily cause of apricot particles.

Pros:
1. Cleans my skins and removes dead skin
2. makes skin soft and supple instantly
3. Love the packaging
4. Inexpensive. Price is 175 INR for 190gms

Cons:
Availability (it wasn't available when I wanted a another one also checked a couple of stores too)

Repurchase: No, because of availability and also because I would like more options in the market.

Viba- Pure Coconut oil Review

Growing up, I never oiled my hair at all and still my hair was soft silky and  no hair fall.. now with all these shampoos and additional chemicals added to the hair I have been forced to oil my hair and scalp to reduce hair fall. So when I received this free sample I decided to give this a try.

What it claims: Viba Pure coconut Oil Naturally nourishing made from fresh, premium sun dried copra picked from the finest coconut farms. Viba is processed using Penta Pure (5 stage filtering process) technology, delivering highest level of purity. The state of art process ensures its natural aroma and retains freshness for a longer period. This is also an edible Oil and hence also has the nutrition facts also listed on the bottle.

 Ingredients: Coconut Oil.

My review: I love this oil mainly because of its ingredient list as it does not list any artificial fragrance. Almost everyone is aware about the benefits of pure coconut oil and hence decided to give this try and moreover its free:-).

This coconut oil come in a blue plastic bottle with a flip cap which is awesome as you can control the amount of oil you want to use and is also travel friendly.I started oiling my hair once every week with this oil and it is really nourishing and makes my dry hair really soft and also moisturizes it and also my hair fall is a lot less compared to before. Since this pure coconut oil, I even used it as moisturizer for the dry skin on my eyes, but only at bedtime.

How I use: I take a 1/4 cup of oil and warm it up and with small amount of cotton wool, I dab the oil along various sections of my scalp. After that I massage my scalp for 10 minutes and then tie my hair in a warm towel for about 30 minutes and then shower with shampoo to remove the oil.

Pros:
1. Pure Coconut oil.
2. makes my dry hair really soft and silky.
3. effective even as skin moisturizer.

Cons:
The bottle is not transparent.

Repurchase: I might,as I would like to also try other products as well.

Amway- Satinique Advanced 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner Review

I love all Amway products. period. Be it their shampoos, conditioners, moisturizers, foot lotions, dish washing soap. I love them for mild fragrance and their consistency of the product is always light. Today I would be reviewing the sachets which I received from my cousin who is an Amway Agent ( I guess that's what they call them).

What it claims: Satinique Advanced 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner claims the following:
  • Naturally derived cleansers and light conditioners help leave hair clean and conditioned. * exclusive Ceramide infusion system restores vital proteins and ceramides, leaving hair soft and manageable and luxurious.
  • Rejuvenates, Strengthens and protects hair from further damage.

How to use: Daily or as needed. Lather, rinse and repeat if necessary.

My review: I have 2 satchets of 4 ml each. I was little skeptical using this product wondering how it works, considering we often use shampoo first and rinse and then apply conditioner and wait for 2 minutes before rinsing. Do I have to wait for 2 minutes with this product on the hair before rinsing?lets find out

I applied oil today and decided to test this product. The 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner is a silky white shampoo is mildly frangranted and and the consistency is very light like all other Amway products. I decided to use the 2 satchets shampoo conditioner as mentioned in the directions. It didnt lather well, may be because I had oil on my hair and was not sure if it removed all the oil and for a minute I thought of using my trusted Tresemme but wanted to check how much Amway could take.

so after shampooing and drying my hair...and Voila!.. no oil on my hair and it feels squeaky clean and washing my hair done in half the time since it has both shampoo and conditioner ... so no waiting time.

Pros:
1. Effectively removed oil from my hair even with such less product
2. The 2 in 1 concept works well in this shampoo and leaves my hair feeling soft and silky.
3. Price 400 INR for 250 ml  and 6 INR for 4 ml

Cons:
Just wished that the satchets had an ingredients list, it would be helpful for people to decide on the buying the bigger bottles.

Repurchasing :  will definitely give it a try if the ingredients list suits me.

Oriflame- Soothing Foot Cream Chamomile Review

Hi everyone, Hope you all are doing well!

Today I am going to be reviewing about a foot cream. I never heard of foot creams apart from 'Crack' cream that is used to repair cracks on the heels or soles of the feet. Anyways one of my friend was selling these Oriflame products and was asking me to purchase something from the catalog. I decided to give it try, I didn't want to try anything for the face as I was not sure. I finally selected this foot cream.

Oriflame soothing foot cream is a unique blend of moisturizers, chamomile and primrose to soften and soothe.

Ingredients List: Aqua,Cetearyl alcohol, Urea, Glycerin, Paraffinum Liquidum, sodium Cetearyl Sulfate,Ceteareth-12, Dimethicone, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Parfum, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, propylene glycol, Limonene, Hexyl Cinnamal, Sorbitol, Primula Vulgaris, Chamomilla Recutita,Linalool.

My review:So I decide to use this in my foot care routine. The product comes with a screw cap top. The texture of the product is slightly thinner than a petroleum jelly and gets easily absorbed into the skin. Once applied you kind of feel a tingling freshness. ( its like halls cough drop for feet). The product smells so refreshing and fresh.

How I use: I soak my leg in warm water with some soapy liquid and after which I remove dry skin with the foot-file. I finally massage the product on my feet. But since I apply it even under my feet I wait for sometime before walking till the product is completely absorbed, lest I slip and fall. It make my skin soft and supple upon regular usage. You don't require a lot of product for a single usage.

Pros:
1. Fresh and refreshing smell.
2. Tingling Freshness.
3. Doesn't require a lot of product and hence lasts quite long.
4. Decently priced at 198 INR for 75 ml

Cons:
Wish it could treat severe cracks on the feet, though it doesn't claim it does.

Repurchase: yes, for the smell and the product lasts long

Elemis- Pro-Collagen Hand and Nail Cream Review

Until recently I used to use the regular body or face moisturizer for my hands. This is a 5ml sample tube which I got from British Airways pouch they give on the plane.

Elemis is UK's largest and most popular hair and beauty brand. Elemis Pro-Collagen Hand and Nail cream is intensely hydrating hand and nail cream containing Padina Pavonica and Malachite delivers smooth, youthful looking hands and strong nails.

Ingredients List:

My Review: The cream comes with a screw cap and a small lovely bluish color tube. The cream is said to contain Padina Pavonica, which is a brown algae found in the Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea and is known to contain anti-ageing and hyrating properties.

The cream is very light and creamy unlike any other creams I have used before. Since the product is very light, it gets easily absorbed into the hands. The cream is very very mildly fragrant and doesn't last even for 5 minutes. I love this part, since it is a hand cream I believe that the cream  should be light and there should be no fragrance at all especially when you plan on touching food immediately. The cream is non-oily and keeps the skin nourished. I haven't had any dry skin on my palms after using this. :-).
It is just 5 ml but i am using it for about a week now both morning and night and it still has some product left.

The cream also claims to help in growing strong nails, I can't vouch for this, as I do not have any brittle nail issues touch-wood.

Pros:
1. Very Light cream and mildly fragrant
2. Gets absorbed easily.
3. Solves my dry skin problems on the palms.

Cons:
Elemis doesn't have a store in India, however they do sell online on snap deal and home 18.
Very highly priced product.

Repurchase: No. as it is not available in india and it's super expensive.:-(

Jergens - Original Scent with Cherry-Almond Hydrators Moisturizer Review

This was when I was in Bangalore . My old moisturizer was almost over and I needed a moisturizer urgently as the winter was about to set in. I have a very dry skin  and my skin tends to irritate when I don't apply moisturizer. So, I decided to check for moisturizers online to look for a decent one without having to spend so much.:-). This one I bought from Urban Touch and since it was an imported product and on sale I literally grabbed it.

Jergens Dry skin Moisturizer with Cherry Almond Hydrators with 60% more moistture instantly for 24 hour softness. Made with a rich blend of moisturizers to soften skin and the signature Cherry-Almond scent cherished by generations. moisturize into memorably soft skin. Experience all the ways Jergens moisturizers make a beautiful difference in your skin.

Ingredients List:

My review: I ordered the one with 300 ml. The moisturizer comes in big bottle with a light blue flip cap nozzle. The smell is really pleasant and mild which I really love.

The smell lasts for about 2 hrs on my skin. The texture is very creamy and slightly on the thicker side, but it gets easily absorbed into the skin. The product claims 24 hr softness. It works very well on my skin and even at the end of the day I move my nail on my skin to see if I have a dry skin, no white lines.. It's wonderful.

Pros:
1. Mild  and pleasant fragrance
2. Works very well for dry skin.
3. Gets absorbed very easily on the skin
4. Does what it claims.. no dryness for 24 hr.
5. Really worth the price for an imported product
6. Price online was 229 INR for 369 ml

Con:
Since its slightly thick the product doesn't come out of nozzle easily. need to tap it a few times.

Repurchase: Definitely Yes. awesome price for such good quantity

Loreal Paris Total Repair 5 Serum- Review

Today I would be reviewing about Loreal Paris Total Repair Serum. I have heard so much about this serum and so I  thought I would give this try.

Price:
Rs. 125 for (40 ml)

Product Description:
For smooth, detangled and repaired hair.
Ingredients:
Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol,Alcohol Denat, Limonene, Benzyl salicylate, Linalool, Benzyl Alcohol, 2-Oleamido-1, 3-Octadecanediol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Geraniol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citronellol, Hexylcinnamal, Fragrance.

My review:
The serum comes in a red and white plastic bottle with a Flip top cap. The Serum has got a very mild fragrance and is transparent. The product is very light and has a runny consistency, which I appreciate since it is a leave-on therapy and doesn't weigh the hair down.

I have a dry hair and this product does nothing for my hair except for the lovely fragrance which lingers for a while. It neither repairs my hair nor does it smoothens or detangle it. In my opinion, the basic of job of the serum is to atleast detangle the hair and this product doesn't do that for me.
Pros:
  • Mild fragrance
  • Product is light
  • Runny consistency
Cons:
  • Doesn't detangle my hair.
  • Doesn't repair damaged hair
Will I buy the product again? No, I will not, as it doesn't work for my hair

Jovees Strawberry Face Wash- Review
Today I am going to review about Jovees Strawberry Face wash. My previous face wash had gotten over and I wanted to try something new and fruity :-)

Price:
Rs.115 (120 ml)
Product Description:
An exclusive face wash for normal to dry skin developed with the latest scientific processes, contains precious herbs, botanicals and well treated granules that shall also help to remove dead cells from the skin surface, restore moisture balance, helps to make skin visibly fairer glowing and soft.
Ingredients:
Strawberry extract, Jojoba extract, Vitamin E., Olivem.
My review:
This face wash comes in a transparent tube, pink in colour with a flip top cap.  I love the fact, that the tube is transparent so I know how much product is left.

The face wash is gel based and contains small pink and white micro-beads. It has a pleasant fruity fragrance. It lathers well. It does remove dirt and gives an instant glow to the face. I have a dry skin and so this moisturises my face well. My skin felt soft and fresh because of the micro-beads which aids in the mild scrubbing.
I have been using this regularly for the past two and half months, so I can safely say that this tube comes for a very long time. I still have about quarter of the product left.
As the product claims, it didn't make my skin fairer. This product is only suitable for normal to dry skin.
Pros:
  • Pleasant fruity fragrance
  • Lathers well
  • Removes dirt
  • Moisturizes the face
  • Product comes for a longer time
Cons:
  • Doesn't make the skin fairer
  • Suitable only for normal to dry skin
Will I purchase this? Yes, for the fruity smell and for the reasonable price.
Rating: 3.5/5
